Congratulations to the Michigan Wolverines.  They finally played up to their potential and beat an outstanding Florida Gators team.  Try as they might, they just couldn't cough up (hint hint) the victory to Florida.  Hey, note to Mike Hart:  I ain't hatin' because you've been phenomenal, but don't play Plastic Man and try to stretch for a TD when your arms aren't that long!!!  If it's the last play of the game, go for it.  Otherwise, take your four chances from the goal line, especially if you have a lead and want to build on it.

I guess the Gators and the SEC aren't so invincible, after all.  I will give them credit, though.  Harvin and Tim Somethin-or-other are pretty good, but they... are not.. the VICTORS!  Hail to the Victors!  Hail to the Michigan Wolverines!

I'm glad they let Coach Carr go out a winner.  Too many whiny spoiled fans don't appreciate what he did because of his recent losing streak against OSU and some bowl losses (though I have to point out the Nebraska loss was kinda' shady because the Nebraska band started to walk on the field during Michigan's lateral-laden kickoff return at the end, on which they might have scored if some band geeks had stayed put till the final whistle; also the 3-point loss to Texas and Vince Young is nothing about which to be embarrassed).  His overall record against OSU, I think, is 6-6 or 5-7.  Sure, we'd all like 12-0, but let's be honest:  OSU wouldn't be our biggest rival if we beat them 12 out of 12 times.  They'd be JAV: Just Another Victim.  That's what makes rivalries great, their close, competitive nature.  Furthermore, as pointed out in the Free Press back in November, let's be glad that during Carr's time at the helm Michigan was a clean program.  The football program was never sullied with the black eyes of having 36 players suspended for a bowl (cough cough Florida State :sick, never had a player dismissed for his FOURTH failed drug test (COUGH COUGH LaMarcus Coker and Tennessee :Whistling, players weren't accused of accepting improper gifts (Cough hack Cough USC :blink, and never got put on probation and out of bowl contention (Alabama, anyone? :ermm.  Maybe that doesn't mean a lot to some fans, but let me suggest this tidbit.  Unfortunately for me, I live in the heart (or armpit) of SEC country, in Knoxville, TN.  Volunteer fans hate Alabama with a passion, and they reveled in Alabama's misery of being on probation and out of the post season.  Imagine what the Buckeye fans would say had that happened to Michigan.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.  I know his teams underachieved at times, but hey, underachieving at Michigan still nets 9 wins a year.  Could be worse.  Imagine what underachieving at Northwestern or Minnesota looks like!  HAHA  Best wishes to the classy Lloyd Carr and to the outgoing seniors.  Chad Henne played a brilliant game and really raised his draft stock.  I hope Manningham sticks around next year.  I was going to include Arrington but I just double-checked and found he's a senior.  Still, I predict good things next year.  GO BLUE!!!

Rock on, Speed Racer!  I'm so sick of hearing how great the SEC is.  It's like these sports writers want to kiss these guys the way they gush about them.  I'm just torn, now, because I want to see the Big Ten one-up the SEC, but that would mean seeing Ohio State win.  What a tough spot.  On the one hand, we've got the goober OSU coach who deserves to lose just because he's, well, the goober OSU coach.  On the other hand, we've got the goober LSU coach who basked in all the attention of being courted by Michigan then threw a hissy fit when someone tried to pin him down to a decision at a tough time (day of SEC championship game).  Either way, I hope it's a 6 - 3 game, with me barely leaning toward hoping OSU wins.  Now I know that sounds horrible coming from a Michigan fan and UM grad, but trust me, if you lived here in SEC country you'd do the same thing if it meant you could say "BIG TEN in your faces, suckas!!!"
