I am planning on going to the 2008 North American International Autoshow.
The last time I went was around five years ago. Actually, I did not plan to attend again but this time my wife would like to go. She has never been to the show. I have been to two auto shows and two auto Rama's over the last twenty years. I did not think I would be attending again. There are fun but the crowds are huge. I found that if you arrive when Cobo Hall opens you can get in and actually walk around and see some of the events. It is best to leave by 11:00 because it is packed.
When I attended in 2004 (I think or '05) it was the year the Pontiac Solstice, Mustang, Chrysler 300 Hemi, (and still the Camaro) were concepts. Now seeing the Solstice on the road it is a "ho-hum" kind of car. The Saturn Sky is much sharper but they need to beef up the HP.
Below is a Hyundai Concept from the '04 show (The model? I have no idea). I have to say I like the Hyundai (The Azera rides as smoooth as glass, and price 1/2 of a Lexus with all the features.)

In 2004 there was a really sharp Mitsubishi Eclipse Concept. Looking at this photo I cannot help but wonder why it was not made? It is not too far from the current Eclipse.
I owned a 2000 Eclipse GT and it was like a rocket, the only thing when you got on it out of 1st gear it would pull too the left so hard that there should have been a warning label on the visor, such as:
"When racing and pressing hard on the gas in first gear the car may pull very hard to the left and crash into the car next to you"Here is a photo of an '04 Concept Eclipse
