I live in Lansing Township on the Westside of Lansing and there are many fishing holes- spots near me. Downtown Lansing the Grand River and Red Cedar river join and nearby a special park is set up for fishing from shore. The Dam has a city park where people can fish from shore as well Many manmade lakes (large ponds) are all around Lansing area where fishing is encouraged. Lake Lansing is close by and sometimes is good for fishing. I’ve driven to Jordan Lake (Lake Odessa Village, http://www.lakeodessa.org/index.html ) about 22 miles west of where I live. Excellent fishing! On the way to the lake- off M-43, you can stop at Sebawa Creek and try your luck for a trout. The creek is the only Trout stream in Eaton County. The DNR used to stock it, but I don’t know if they still do. The creek has lot of crayfish and they are delicious. You cook them like lobster. (Make sure you have a Trout endorsement on your fishing license.) When my kids were younger I say: “Hey—The fish are biting and jumpin’ in the boat! Dig some worms, grab your fishing gear and let’s go fishin’! Jeff (weseye) Wesley
